HOW FULCRUM IS ADAPTING TO THE COVID-19 CRISIS

Fulcrum has re-opened for in-person workouts, but we're taking this disease seriously (and so should you!) so we've made a lot of changes to how we're working to keep our members and staff safe while still enjoying the health benefits of regular exercise. 

CLIENT GUIDELINES

  • Maintain six feet of social distance at all times.  If you cannot respect this you will be asked to leave.

  • Wear a mask if you are inside the gym (please bring your own, but Fulcrum will have a limited quantity on hand for those who forget).

    • List of acceptable masks:

      • N95

      • Surgical mask

      • Cotton mask

    • List of unacceptable masks:

      • Knitted mask

      • Bandana

      • Gaiter

  • Do not come to the gym if you are experiencing any of the following symptoms: Dry Couch, Fever, Sore Throat, Shortness of Breath, Headaches, Chills, Body Aches, Loss of taste and/or smell and stay home until at least 72 hours after all symptoms have passes. 

  • Sanitize hands upon entry and exit of facility 

  • Sanitize all equipment before and after use

  • Reserve for all classes in advance using the Zen Planner app. Try to arrive 5 minutes early and Do not arrive more than 2 minutes late for a workout or you will be turned away. 

  • Check in yourself upon arrival using the Zen Planner app on your personal phone or asking a staff member to check you in (no more iPads)

  • Do not leave anything behind, do not put bags or personal items on the floor or other surfaces. Use and sanitizing cubbies. 

  • Minimize time in the gym and avoid using restrooms if possible

  • Wait outside the gym (6 feet apart) in between sessions until the FitPro lets you enter when they are ready for you. 

  • No food or drink other than personal water

  • Consider bringing your own chalk, gloves, hand sanitizer and/or wipes

OUTDOOR WORKOUTS

Masks are required for all indoor workouts, but we know not everyone feels safe or comfortable working out indoors with a mask on. We're giving you an option to workout outdoors safely. 

NE MLK

We're offering multiple outdoor workouts a day at nearby Irving Park (NE 7th and Freemont)

These classes will meet at the covered pavilion near the basketball courts. Please bring any weights or bands you would like to utilize- but if you don't have any equipment fear not, you can just use your body weight and get a great workout.

HAWTHORNE

The city of Portland has given us usage of the street and sidewalk in front of the gym for outdoor workouts. By default, the team training classes will occur outside, and the small groups will occur inside. But members will have the option to use both spaces during any workout.

WHAT ELSE WE'RE DOING BEHIND THE SCENES

  • Limiting class sizes and enforcing mandatory reservations for all sessions. 

  • Screening people upon entry and turning people away with any symptoms of illness or who have had any potential exposure to the virus

  • Eliminating equipment sharing during workouts and sanitizing all equipment before and after usage. 

  • Scheduling a longer break between sessions so that our staff can clean and sanitize in between sessions and so that members will not come into contact with each other in passing. 

  • Encouraging all members and staff to wear masks at all times. Masks will be required for all indoor sessions and Fulcrum will have a limited supply of masks available for those who forget to bring one

  • Staff will not be physically touching members or getting close to them.  

  • Making sure small groups and large groups do not happen at the same time at Hawthorne (at MLK they take place in separate rooms so this is irrelevant). 

  • Ensuring everyone remains at least 6 feet apart at all times. 

  • Ensuring proper airflow so there is a constant supply of fresh air. 

  • Holding many larger classes outdoors. Please note we will still offer some indoor team training classes. Classes will be labeled accordingly in the Zen Planner schedule.
