10 Minutes with a Trainer | Brittany
Welcome to our first installment of our ‘10 Minutes with a Trainer’ series!
Here’s how it works: I sit down with one of our wonderful FitPro’s for 10 minutes and ask them about their favorite workout playlists, food (of course), and more.
So, sit down, grab some popcorn, and see if you learn anything new about your favorite Fulcrum trainer!
Today I sat down with Brittany (who you probably know as B).
Here’s what you might not know about her:
Alright, B, let’s get started with some fitness questions. What’s your favorite exercise?
Deadlifts.
How about your least favorite?
Ugh, chinups.
Did you play any sports growing up, or do you play any now?
Growing up, I ran and skied cross country.
What are some fitness accomplishments you are proud of?
I’m really proud of how strong I’ve gotten over the past few years with my strength training. I was pretty happy I hit 265 with my deadlift, but I’m mostly just happy that I’m still active and mobile, and able to do what I want to do.
What’s your go to workout song right now?
Body ody ody ody!! (translation: she means Body by Megan Thee Stallion)
What’s one of your favorite workout playlists right now?
What’s your favorite post workout meal?
Tacos with sweet potato, black means/mock chicken, and veggies.
Oooh, yum. What’s your go-to topping for those?
Avocado, obviously, and chipotle hot sauce.
Least favorite diet fad?
God, all of them. I’m not a fan of diet culture at all, but I think the one I dislike the most are ones that disguise themselves as being healthy. Probably low carb- I have a lot of clients that want to train high intensity workouts, but then go on a low carb diet and end up having no energy.
What is something you love about your job?
The people that I get to work with, both the other trainers and clients! I love watching clients progress along their journey, it’s fun to work with people over the years and see how fitness changes in their life and be a part of that.
Okay, let’s focus on you! Where are you from, and how long have you been in Portland for?
I’m from Minneapolis, Minnesota, and I’ve been in Portland for just under two years now.
What is your favorite thing about Portland?
I love how green it is, it’s so beautiful and lush all the time!
Do you have any hobbies?
Staring at my cat, Bruce. Pre-pandemic, I love traveling. I’ve been to parts of Europe, SE Asia, India, and Central America. I love to take a few months and go explore a region!
What have you read/watched recently?
Oh, these aren’t good haha. My guilty pleasure TV show right now is Are You the One? It’s basically a trashy MTV hookup show. I’m also watching Hunter x Hunter, because Dakayla recommended it.
Do you have any hidden talents?
I’m incredibly organized, and I’m a really good cook. I love cooking and I’ve practiced it a lot!
Alright, our time is almost up here. Let’s run through some ‘this or that’ questions!
